Kara leads the creative department, and is involved in all facets of Arthouse's operations. She is the strategist behind the development of new writers and artists at the company. She works day to day with Arthouse songwriters, including reviewing and critiquing their new works. Kara also leverages her deep artist and industry relationships and experience to the benefit of Arthouse and its writers; and seeks strategic relationships with other media sectors and brands for the company.
Kara is an accomplished songwriter, publisher, record producer, Warner Brothers record executive, and TV personality. As one of the most successful contemporary songwriters in the world, Kara's songs have appeared on more than 160 million albums. She's had over 316 songs released by major labels, 150 songs on platinum selling albums, and has enjoyed over 50 charting singles. Her credits include successes and collaborations with artists such as Pink, Katy Perry, Celine Dion, Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Carrie Underwood, Enrique Iglesias, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Faith Hill, Santana and many more. As Executive Vice President at Warner Brothers Records, Kara has signed artists such as Jason Derulo, Neon Hitch, and Iyaz.
Additionally, Kara was a judge on seasons 8 and 9 of the hit FOX show, American Idol, and was recently featured as the head judge on Bravo's songwriting reality competition show, Platinum Hit. In the fall of 2011, Kara made her Broadway stage debut as merry murderess, Roxie Hart, in the Tony Award-winning hit musical CHICAGO. Kara is also a published author having release her self-penned, "Helluva High Note", through Harper Collins in 2011. Kara is a graduate of Duke University.
Stephen manages Arthouse Entertainment's day-to-day operations. This includes A&R, business affairs, copyright administration, and business development. He also sets long-term business strategy for the company.
A multi-faceted entrepreneur, Stephen also manages songwriter/TV personality/A&R executive Kara DioGuardi, and produces for TV.
Stephen brings over 20 years of varied music and entertainment-industry experience to his position. Previous to running Arthouse, Stephen was the General Manager of TVT Music Publishing, signing writers like Scott Storch (Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Eminem, Christina Aguilera), and Li'l Jon (Pitbull, Usher, Yin Yang Twins) among others. Prior to starting-up TVT's music-publishing operations, Mr. Finfer was Senior Director, Creative Affairs at Famous Music Publishing/Paramount Pictures. Preceding that, he was General Manager/East Coast at Universal Music Publishing, a division of UMG/Vivendi.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Finfer operated his own law firm and management company, where his clients included Dr. Dre/Deathrow Records, Master P/No Limit Records, Capitol Records, Priority Records, LOUD Records, Fleetwood Mac, House Of Pain/Everlast, and Selena Quintanilla, among others.
Mr. Finfer began his career as a litigator at the law firm of Shea & Gould in Los Angeles, before spending several years in the business affairs department of Capitol/EMI Music. Mr. Finfer is a graduate of Brandeis University, and Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
